Blue Grotto (Biševo)

The Blue cave, also called Modra špilja, is a lovely natural treasure on the island Biševo, 5 kilometres south of vis island. The cave is well-known for the mesmerizing blue mild filling the distance at a specific time of day, whilst the sunlight hits the ocean surface thru a gap at the vault. The mild displays off the water and the white seabed, wrapping the site in a layer of incredible blue.

The cave used to be accessible most effective by means of diving until 1884 when an artificial entrance was constructed above the ocean surface to permit small boats to sail in. Over time, the cave became viral with so many photos and videos online and that has led to the situation where visitors must wait in line to enter. BUT..it is worth it? The most honest answer is YEEEES! 🙂

But…there are a couple of things you want to keep in thoughts:

The most convenient time to go to the blue cave is the time-window among eleven am and a 2 pm, while the sun hits the water at just the proper perspective, amping up the mild colour to an awesome level.

Time spent inside the cave is constrained by means of the concessionaire to 15 mins per boat, and swimming inside the cave is currently frowned upon. Taking pics is not. Make a few recollections.

Imagine a morning that starts with swimming at the most lovely seaside Stiniva, named the top beach in Europe for 2016 by the Brussels-based tourism organisation European Best Destinations following a poll of more than 10,000 holidaymakers. After that imagine taking a bath in the colourful blue light of the Blue cave. That would be perfect, don’t you think!? 🙂

BOOK your boat trip to Blue cave and remember it for the rest of your life!
